Step 1 – Design a Fence

When you are happy with your fence selection, you should review and sign the contract and then place a deposit with Tru-Link Fence. We accept checks, Master Card, Visa and Discovery Cards. You will also need to read and sign the consumer rights acknowledgment form. An installation date will then be scheduled. Most fence installations are done in a day. However, sometimes unforeseen circumstances may require a little more time to complete your fence.
Step 2 – Obtain Your Permit
Most townships today require a permit prior to installation of a new fence. Usually a copy of your plat of survey and a contract for the fence are all that are needed for a permit. Please check with your local building department for additional information or specific requirements they may have. We suggest applying for your fence permit as early as possible. It may take up to two weeks to obtain.
We also recommend that you check with your homeowners association to see if there are any restrictions prior to us building your fence.
Please notify Tru-Link Fence if there is any city /village or homeowners association restrictions that we need to consider when building your fence.
Step 3 – Installation
All shrubs, plants, trees, limbs, etc… in the installation area must be cleared prior to fence crews arrival.
Locate private utilities: i.e. sprinkler systems, sump pump lines, landscape lighting, invisible fencing, etc… Tru-Link fence will not be held responsible for any hit private utilities.
Two to seven days prior to the installation of your fence, Tru-Link Fence will notify J.U.L.I.E (Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators). If you live in Chicago, we call DIGGER. (1.800.382.5544 J.U.L.I.E.) And (DIGGER 312-744-7000) will instruct local utility companies to locate their underground facilities in your yard. Please leave all flags and markings in your yard until the fence installation is complete.
Tru-Link Fence will take care of scheduling all posthole inspections when they are required.
During the day of installation, your crew foreman will meet with you to review the placement of your fence. Please provide a copy of your plat of survey to your crew foreman so he can establish your property boundaries. The foreman will set string and ask you to approve the layout
